Russian metiz(hardware) the word came from the reduction of two Russian words metallicheskie and izdelija(metal work). Hardware-are different standardized articles of industrial and general purpose use, such as: wire, nails, screws, rivets, nuts, washers, grid, and others.

Wire - metallic thread, cord. Wire is obtained by broaching (dragging) through the consecutively minuend openings. Wire is produced with different diameters (to tens of millimeters). Wire is used for preparing nails, hardware, Rabitz, springs, drills, thermocouples, electrical wires, electrodes, electronic devices and other purposes.

Nail - metallic pointed rod with the head at the blunt end, and also thin wooden rod, which is used for fastening, strengthening of parts of anything, or for suspending anything.

Rabitz got its second name (it is also called mesh grid) because of the method of its production. More precisely - the interweaving of one spiral of wire into the previous spiral. This construction givesa grid additional flexibility and elasticity, which makes it possible because of the deformation to use grid with land-reclamation actions (strengthening coasts) and with building of gabions (in bridge building).
